Alex wrote his first play when he was seventeen: Gritty Chowder. He self-produced it in the backseat of his parent's car on a road trip to Arizona.

He received his B.S. in theatre from Northwestern University in 2008 where he studied with Mia McCullough, Rebecca Gilman and David Kukoff in the Creative Writing for the Media Program. Having varied interests and being indecisive, for the next six years he focused on acting, playing drums in a band, writing music and producing commercial videos.

In 2014 he moved from Oakland to New York to reorganize his life around writing. His first full length production, Algorithmism, premiered at the 2016 New York International Fringe Festival. His short plays In the Glass Coffin, Ciao for Now, and Basement/Loft have been produced by Amios Theater Company, and his short plays Alvin Ballister v. Alvin Ballister and ACI have been produced with support from Athena Theatre Company. He is an alumnus of the Athena Writes Playwrights Group.

He lives in Brooklyn where he's also a percussionist and an actor. He recently composed and performed the percussion for Colossal at SF Playhouse
